We will start at Vatican Museums, originally conceived for the sole enjoyment of the Pope, the lavish labyrinth is made up of 2,000 rooms that stretch over 9 miles. Your guide will lead you to some of the main attractions, as well as reveal secrets hidden among the established masterpieces. Head to the Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel including the fabled “Creation of Adam,” then wander through the former apartments of the popes in Raphael's Rooms.
Follow your guide into St. Peter’s Basilica, rich in works of art and monuments like the Canopy by Bernini, the bronze statue of St. Peter, the Pietà by Michelangelo and many more. End on St. Peter's Square, where your guide will point out Bernini's ingenious use of optical illusions on his magnificent colonnade.
